Rock Through the Valley is a cooperative effort undertaken by the Allentown Art Museum of the Lehigh Valley, Discover Lehigh Valley and local businesses to go hand-in-hand with the Art Museum’s

Who Shot Rock & Roll: A Photographic History, 1955 to the Present

After almost a year closing to undergo a major renovation and expansion, The Allentown Art Museum of the Lehigh Valley invites you to expand your own creativity through great masterpieces. The museum has an incredible schedule planned for the upcoming year. Filled with special events, lectures and traveling exhibits, the museum is sure to impress.

In particular their exciting feature exhibition, Who Shot Rock & Roll: A Photographic History, 1955 to the Present will provide visual access to some of the biggest names in the music industry over the past 50 years.

The exhibition contains more than 175 images, including candid snapshots, publicity portraits, album cover art, videos and images of live performances of popular artists ranging from Elvis and Dylan to Amy Winehouse.

Visitors to the museum will be able to examine the work of photographers such as Richard Avedon, Annie Leibovitz, Linda McCartney and many more. In all, some 100 men and women who documented one of the most important cultural revolutions ever. Their images capture the essence of the rock and roll generation, freedom and personal reinvention and expression through skillful, sensual, sexy, creative and compelling images that are among the best representations of rock photography, past and present.
